Marina View Preschool is a family owned and operated Preschool owned by Preston and Beverly Kratz. As the owners, we are on site every day to personally oversee the operation of the school and look after the welfare of the children. We have an "open door" policy and are available to meet with parents any time throughout the day (or evenings if required). |

Marina View Preschool and Kindergarten
Marina View Preschool opened it's doors for business April 1996, offering programs for children ages 12 months through Kindergarten, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment, here at Marina View Preschool, is academic and fairly structured. The environment is very positive and the children have fun learning. Marina View Preschool has strong ties to the local community, and is a Member of the local Better Business Bureau.
Overview
Infants
12 months - 23 months
The Infant Program is for children ages 12 months to 23 months, and is Designed to meet the needs of our youngest age group. The child/teacher Ratio is 4:1, and there will never be more than 8 children in this classroom. Children in this Infant Program are involved in activities to promote sensory development and awareness, physical development, and cognitive skills. Each child will also be developing social awareness and social skills, which will help them adjust from their one-on-one mother/child relationship to a small group environment. Children do not need to be to be potty trained, as this is a primary focus of our Teachers in the 2's classroom.
Toddlers
24 months - 36 months
The Toddler Program is for children ages 24 months through 36 months (or until potty trained). The Teacher/child ratio in this classroom is approximately 8: 1. In this Classroom, our Teachers have 4 year degrees in Education, and have children of their own as well. The Toddler Program, at Marina View Preschool, focuses on potty training along with social skills. The child's attention span will be developed through teacher-directed activities and play situations. Each of our Toddler's are offered a changing variety of learning materials and environments both in and outside of the classroom. These include the following:
- Small manipulative toys which the child will put together, sort, match, and take apart;
- Art and sensory activities including lots of hands-on craft activities;
- Blocks;
- Group activities such as Circle time, singing, music and movement, Story telling, physical activities, and outside play and games.
Kindergarten
We offer a very excellent all-day Kindergarten Program here at Marina View Preschool. The hours of this program are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. but the students may come as early as 7:00 a.m. and stay until 6:00 p.m. Our Kindergarten is a very academic and well-rounded Program, with a small class size of approximately 12 children.
The Kindergarten curriculum includes: Science, Math, Foreign Languages, Music, Art, Geography, Phonics, Writing, and Computer lab, which is taught by outside professionals (Computertots). Additionally, the Kindergarten students have outside Field trips ( Art Museum, Live Theatrical and Musical performances) and other '"Special Events" throughout the year. Our graduating students continually place in the upper percentile of the class when they enter the First grade in Public school.
