Mold Detectors
The issue of indoor mold contamination is becoming a larger concern as awareness to its potential danger is growing. Molds are present almost anywhere, as long as moisture, oxygen, and a substance to grow on is present. There are many types of mold in existence and all have the potential to cause health effects. Molds may be allergenic (causing an allergic or asthmatic response in individuals if concentration is high enough), pathogenic (disease causing), or toxigenic (exposure can result in serious health effects). Certain individuals are at higher risk than others, including infants, elderly, asthmatics, and individuals with compromised immune systems. Any individual noticing extensive water damage, a musty, moldy odor, or visible mold growth should contact a mold professional for advice.
Mold Inspection Process
Our certified inspectors will travel to the requested location and conduct a thorough examination of the premises. Typical inspections run 2-3 hours, within which time our inspector will conduct the necessary tests to discover what, if any, problems exist. The tests are then sent to an independent laboratory for
review. Within 10 days the results are reported back to Mold Detectors, and we compile all the relevant information into a comprehensive report for the customer. After reviewing the results and contacting the client, it will be determined if further steps are needed to remediate the problem. If further action is required, one of our highly skilled remediators will visit the location and, within a few days, draw up a remediation plan. Our staff and the client will then discuss all options and finalize the steps to remediate the mold. The remediation process is a highly skilled and intense process. In order to insure the safety of the occupants, most remediation jobs will require the premises to be vacated. The evacuation can range from 1 day to several weeks depending on the scale of the job.
